I am a qualified teacher with BSc Ed(Hons.) with English background and I would to homeschool my daughter. I would be grateful if I can join the community and if I can provide my service to the community about homeschooling.

I am very worry about the school education system in Malaysia (which is going to be in bahasa Melayu) I have no choice but to homeschool my daughter to look after her future.

Thanks

I would like to take back and take charge of my own kids' education following our government's fickle and seemingly backward policies.

However, after browsing a few websites today, I've read that we Malaysian parents have to apply to the MOE for exemptions and there certain conditions to be met. It is apparently mandatory for our kids to attend school - in the traditional sense - unless we fulfill those requirements.

I would like some feedback and advice if I don't fall under those categories - learning disabilities or residence requirements. The only reason why I want to homeschool is my lack of trust in the Malaysian School system, syllabus and policies. That and the tendencies for them to treat kids as political pawns and as guinea pigs.

of course, it should never be the end of the world just because the government plays flip-flop. Indeed as KV says, the one sure way to avoid being victimised by policies like this is to take back our kids and take charge of their education ourselves.
