Hi, please let me know of september workshop – time and place. I am from Cheras
I am a qualified teacher with BSc Ed(Hons.) with English background and I would like to homeschool my daughter. I would be grateful if I can join the community and if I can provide my service to the community about homeschooling.
I am very worry about the school education system in Malaysia (which is going to be in bahasa Melayu) I have no choice but to homeschool my daughter to look after her future.
Thanks
Hi, I have been thinking of homeschooling my 4 kids but don’t know how to go about it. Do I have to get an approval from the education department before I can homeschool them. Would appreciate if I can get advise on how to go about it. I am seriously thinking of it as my twins are quite weak in school and don’t think they can catch up with the rest in class. And I don’t want them to feel left out.
All the help I can get is really appreciated.
Thanks and best regards
Vasanthi
Hi, I’m looking for a support group where perhaps 3 to 4 parents (to act as teachers) to take turns for say 3-4 times a week session to teach lower primary school children more as a supplementary session than to totally replace public schooling. The pace that I am looking at is more student centred and hence would be conducted more homeschool-like. Main reason is my 7 year old son is currently in Chinese primary school but will be switching to Sekolah Kebangsaan next year as he has trouble coping and is a bit AD (dreamy). I hold a lecturing job that I cant give for the most common reason, but gives me some free time in the evenings. I have a postgrad degree in Engineering so I can basically cover Science, Math & English comfortably and also dance (have an professional teaching qualification from a dance teachers society in UK) if the group is keen, but am looking for peers who can share the load for various reasons, ie so that my son can interact with peers & the children are exposed to different styles, ideas & also other artistic expertise (ie music, sports etc) from the various parent/teachers & because my husband has neither the time nor patience to be part of the teaching force. Hope to hear from some of you. BTW, I’m located in the Klang Valley. Thanks.
