Into our 2nd Month of Our Cooperative Learning Initiative (CLI) Center, we are now happy to announce the launching of the:

C.S.I. Program

We initiated a new program at CLIC called the CSI program with the objective of equipping children with the right thinking tools for learning.  What is the CSI?

It is not the popular TV series on crime, but we hope it would be popular with children!

C = Creativity
S = Self expression
I = Innovation

The CSI Program is the result of the years of our own experience as homeschoolers educating our children and other children who have been involved in our playgroup right through the friends who have been networking with us. We are putting this together because we feel that the social dimension to creativity is equally important as the inward aspect. We have also been very inspired by the thoughts and works of Sir Ken Robinson (see video below).

Why CSI?

Simply to challenge the way we think!

We need CSI in the way we think, learn and work. It is widely acknowledged that our education is seriously in need of creativity and innovation in schools. This program is aimed at spuring learners to think and express themselves creatively using language (English in this case) incorporating the creative arts like drawing, cartooning and designing to creative writing and music composition. It also involves the practice of forming ideas and developing them through various fun and interesting exercises and group assignments.

Objectives of CSI Program

Students of CSI tend to improve in the areas of reading and writing, thinking and problem-solving. Some of the assignments they have completed so far are several comic strips, an ABC book for children, and an educational  board game. CSI learners are constantly challenged to be more creative, expressive and innovative in whatever they think and  do.

Registration and Inquiries

Who should attend:  The CSI Program is open to children ages: 10 -15 years

When when will be the program: Every Wednesdays and/or Fridays (2.30pm – 4.00pm)

Where? Event will be held at the CLI Center at 26 (3rd Floor), Jalan R31/R, Kota Kemuning, Shah Alam, Selangor.

About CLIC

CLIC, short for Cooperative Learning Initiative Center, is an initiative to bring parents and children together to build an environment for LEARNING. It based upon the following principles:

L: Learning. A recognition everyone has the ability to learn, some may learn differently from others. CLIC is aimed at creating a platform to for a self-directed, self-motivated learning objective.

E: Education. the word education is derived from educare (Latin) “bring up”, which is related to educere “bring out”, “bring forth what is within”, “bring out potential” and ducere, “to lead”. CLIC is a platform to bring out potential.

T:Transformation. Ultimately, it i about change – personal change for happiness and social change for a better society and community. It’s about transformation!
