I have loved making bread since I learnt it (by hand) many years ago. But it is time-consuming and labour-intensive work, both of which all mothers confess they are lacking in! But all this changed when we were given a bread machine by my mom-in-law, and a fail proof recipe given by a dear friend. We have not looked back since! No more store bought breads for us. Only freshly baked, hot from the oven, healthy an delicious bread made at home!
Here’s a basic recipe for you to try out at home (if you have been struggling like me to get the perfect bread):
3 cups of flour (high protein unbleached bread flour)
1 cup of water (or soy milk)
2 tbsp brown sugar
2 tbsp oil (olive or vegetable)
1 tsp salt
1 tsp active dried yeast
Put all ingredients into the bread machine. Select yr fav function. And voila! An amazing bread awaits you in there! After this, you can experiment with all kinds of bread and buns that you like. You can even make healthier doughnuts for your family to enjoy. Have fun!
I recommend this book which is really great for beginners like myself! Easy to follow and most importantly, the recipes work!
